Champions of Lowe's YMCA
In our community, the zip code you’re born into has the potential to determine your future. Where you live can affect your education, your success, your health and even your hopes and dreams.
At the Y, we believe everyone deserves the same opportunities, no matter who you are or where you’re from. That’s why Lowe's YMCA works tirelessly to close gaps and bridge divides.
That’s why Team Champions of Lowe’s YMCA has joined is ready to help further impact our local community. As dedicated Volunteers for Lowe’s YMCA, we take ownership in helping to spread awareness and gain support for these community programs that are transforming lives right here in the Mooresville Community.
But, we can’t do it alone. We need help from our community to give everyone the opportunity they need to reach their full potential.
When you give to the Lowe's YMCA Annual Campaign, you partner with us to tackle our community's most critical needs, including:
Third-grade reading proficiency is a critical predicator of success in school, career and life. Children who are not reading at grade level by third grade are four times more likely to drop out of high school. At the Y, we are determined to change the outcome for children most at risk of falling behind. From targeted intervention programs like Y Readers to infusing literacy curriculum into traditional Y programs, we are powering learning opportunities that help position all children for academic success.
When you give to the Y, your gift has the potential to provide children and families in need with access to high-impact youth development programs that can shape a child’s future. Your generosity could fund the financial assistance a child needs to be able to participate in YMCA summer camp, afterschool, preschool or youth sports.
Drowning is the second-leading cause of accidental death for children ages 1 to 14, claiming the lives of three children every day. That’s why teaching children how to be safe around water is not a luxury – it’s a necessity. At the Y, we believe a child’s safety in and around water should never be left to chance. We’re determined to prevent childhood drowning by providing everyone with access to high-quality water safety instruction and swim lessons.
$50 has potential to give a child at risk of drowning the chance to learn water-safety instruction.
$100 has potential to give a child the opportunity to build confidence and develop healthy habits through youth sports.
$250 has potential to send a child to one week of summer day camp filled with enriching and healthy activities
$500 has the potential to give a cancer survivor 12 weeks of programming to help regain strength and quality of life.
$1000 has the potential to provide a family with YMCA access to get healthy and spend quality time together.
$1,450 has potential to offer a child struggling to read the opportunity to improve their literacy skills and build confidence in the classroom through Y Readers.
